The Vintage Revival at Montlhéry was a fabulous event where it was impossible to visit all the cars and all the people, but we were lucky to be introduced to a lady and her car with a special link - the car was made by her grandfather. Caroline brought her 1928 Type 43 Grand Sport Bugatti for a weekend's sporting motoring around the famous banked track south of Paris which was built in 1924 taking four months. Two thousand workmen would lay more than 100 yards of concrete in a day. The Type 43GS owes its origins to the Type 35 with its 8cylinder supercharged OHC 2.3 litre engine and capable of over 100 mph.
Caroline can be seen HERE driving her Bugatti round that same concrete Montlhéry track and occasionally gets well up the banking. Her T shirt says 'Art of Racer', I wonder if she is carrying on the Bugatti spirit on two wheels as well as four? It's always a pleasure to meet a Bugatti, whether it's a car or a lady.
