"I Like Action!" is a great headline for an advert but we doubt if moviestar Ginger Rogers was really that enthusiastic about her 1939 De Soto. Previously she had owned exotics like a Duesenberg which even starred in her movie "The Gay Divorcee" (scroll down a bit) with Fred Astaire. Yet the De Soto was probably a more usable car, especially when she wanted to go shopping with her friends. While on the road they could talk as much as they wanted, and not worry about driving too fast, because the De Soto had a built-in 'traffic-cop', a light on the speedometer that showed green, amber or red, as the speed changed.
