Last year October we reported about the Classic Car Challenge China; in short the 4C Rally which is roughly a 1000 mile drive from Beijing to Shanghai in the south. This 4C Rally is one of the very-very few options to drive your car in China. In general you cannot drive a car by yourselves in China and getting a temporary driving license is an adventure in itself. From the moment you start from under the The Great Wall just north of Beijing, until arrival at the fabulous yaght club of Shanghai you will see dazzling hospitality, interesting foods and er... quite a different driving experience.
This year is the 5th edition of the 4C Rally from 7-19 October and - yes - we will be participating again. And what's more, we hope to see some of you as participants as well. All classic cars are eligible. Yet in our view a car should be able to cruise more than ten minutes at 60 mph.
To lower the threshold considerably PreWarCar-PostWarClassic will give away 2 (yes two!) team entries for the 10-day, 1000 mile rally.
This may save you the sweet amount of Euro 5996 (roughly GBP 4360 or US$ 6668).
So if you ever dreamed of seeing China by classic car this is not a chance to be missed. If you win the entry you don't pay a penny for the Rally, from the moment you arrive on the airport until you leave the country again. The only thing we cannot give away is your travel expenses to and from China. That is to say plane tickets and cartransport to Beijing. See these very recent quote of freigth costs (for a single or a two car container) from various harbours around the world. Keep in mind that you have a fair chance to win as only a limited group of people has the time to go to China for a twelve day trip in October. Participating in the raffle is extremely simple. All you need to do is send an e-mail to office@prewarcar.com with a photo of the car you probably would bring and in a few words why you think this car is perfect for travelling in China. Be sure to send in before Monday June 15, 1200 hrs GMT. See you in Beijing!
