As promised: signed by the Vic Darkwood himself. Four books to four winners of our storytelling competition which started early August.
1. Bruno Ogorlec appears to be a born story writer; he took us by surprise with his wonderful write-up based starting with a dark blue '39 supercharged Graham. Just one small greasy spot was the discussion raised by the International Union of Cheese Graters who protested against grating roquefort...
2. Peter Irlenborn was kind enough to offer us all a Voisin hunt in Turkey. He didn't find the car he was hoping for, but my! ... though not the real thing, the Voisin he found including the oak clad collectors cabin is a true collectors item.
3. Toby Ross took us all the way down to Bedelia lovers lane and caused an avalanche of bitter critic to be dumped on his head. Dear Visitors, dear Readers. Toby was not asked as a historian. Neither as a police detective. He mereley sent in a pleasant read.
4. An Australian Austin find, an ultrashort story by Ross Nerdal about a very important decision. Restore or recommision? Our friends of The Automobile picked up the issue (or were already comtemplating similar) and bring up the same questions but now focussed on a vintage Bentley Saloon.
Dear Bruno. Dear Peter. Dear Toby, Dear Ross. Congratulations! Keep writing, keep surprising us, you may even find a pleasant job in sending us your stories. But before that, please send your mailing address to office@prewarcar.com and we will see to it that you get The Gentleman's Guide to Motoring, signed by Vic! And further we hope to hear more from you. As in this era in which only Photobook and other silent media are predicted to survive, the art of storytelling is worth to be covered.
