The cyclecar was late in coming to America. While the Bedélia in France and GN in Britain gained favour from 1910, it was not until 1914 that the first models were introduced in the USA. But then a deluge followed: the likes of Imp, O-We-Go, Greyhound, Cricket and Dudley Bug. Our quiz car followed the typical pattern: tandem seating, belt drive, planetary gearbox and v-twin Spacke engine. If anything distinguished it, it had to be the unique shock absorbers and a catchy slogan: "It rides over the dust." Built in New England by a doctor, it blossomed in the summer of 1914 but by 1915 it was gone, as the sole known example headed out of town on a railroad flatcar. By then, the price of a Model T Ford was down to $440, making a “toy” car at $400-500 a silly proposition.
