Last Friday we visited Model T Worldtour Dirk & Trudy Regter who escaped from total disaster when their Model T after 60,000 miles without a scratch was near total destruction when a careless truckdriver hit the car from behind on a trailer. Six months later the atmosphere is much better. Dirk is rebuilding the 1915 Model T step by step. We walked around in his workshop with the chassis that is again straight as an arrow. Rear axle and engine are ready again to install. The reconstructed body is with the paintshop and Dirk is confident that he will be able to drive the car again by the end of June.
Yet arguably even better is the news that he has found the support of Ford Germany. As a first visible sign of their help they have done a very professional job on all collected video material shot on the first three legs of the trip. Africa, USA, South America.
Buckle up and enjoy a most remarkable adventure(click).
Let's hope The Model T Worldtour can resume shortly. Keep in mind that the tour is organised for a good cause.
