John Bates writes: "MG VA 1279 was produced in February 1938 and exported to Switzerland. It was exhibited at that year's Geneva Motor Show as a 'show chassis' with no body fitted. A VA was fitted with a body by Keller, the Swiss dealer and bodybuilder and I have a photograph of it. A convertible VA took part in Swiss time trials in a team of three MGs in 19338/39 and won the team prize. The other MGs were a K3 and an NA. I have seen a photograph of the three cars at the finish. Were these VAs one and the same car? Does a photograph exist of the VA show chassis at the Motor Show in Geneva? MG factory records show only five VAs exported to Switzerland, four saloons and the show chassis car. I have owned this car since 1963 and would love to solve this mystery."
