Paul Linster reports about the 'End of Holiday Rally in Luxemburg', in french "Randonnée de la Fin des Vacances", with 22 pre-war participating automobiles. This time ncluding no less than 3 different Packards, a 640 Roadster1929, an 833 Touring 1931 and a cabriolet 1933), two Plymouth products, being a PC and PD and Overland Whippet. European made competitors were a Bentley Blower, Bentley 3 Liter, Panhard - Levassor 1913 (100 year birthday!), Citroën 1919, FN 1300 1925, Sunbeam Drophead Coupé 1930, Overland Whippet and Chenard Walker Z5, Morris 8, Morgan 4-4 1937 and Delahaye 135 1937. In other words no boring field! On the tour they made a visit to the Mondorf Classic Days and Concours d'Elegance followed by a tasting of the excellend wines of Luxembourg Moselle at "Cep d'Or" and after a scenic tour along the river Moselle and Sauer regained at Grand Hotel Echternach. The Sunday brought a trip through "Little Luxembour-ish Switzerland" in the Mullerthal and a most interesting visit at Moulin Dieschbourg. As always in Luxembourg, good food and wines were at the rendez-vous. |
