Ooops that was a bit painfull, that we inadvertedly published the name of the car within the quiz. Sorry for that! Several visitors told us about the mishap. After which we added a note that it was still possible to come up with the exact type and more. Just a few competitors took the trouble to do so: best answer without a shade of doubt - however not fully correct - was by Howard Morgan: "1925 Graf und Stift S3 model with 6 cylinder OHV engine of 7.7 litres developing 110bhp."
Sender of the photos is Karl Marschhofer who is collecting Austrian made automobiles. The car depicted is a SR4, the difference with the earlier SR3 is that the V-shaped radiator gave place to a flat radiator with the change of model at the end of 1924. With the same modelchange also the valve arrangement changd. Depicted here the the S3 engine with one cylinderblock for all 6 cylinders, we understand the SR4 had an OHV arrangement but correct us if we are wrong. Detailed Graef und Stift information is hard to get. Anyway Howard's answer was the best we received so he is this weeks winner. Congratulations!
Gräf & Stift made no more than 5000 vehicles in total of which number is known that 119 have survived. Possibly a few more which are not known yet. So please let us know if you heard of a Gräf & Stift hiding in Argentina, New Zealand or Tibet.
