A large Billancourt product of the pre WWI years. It looks like one of the larger two-letter Renaults of around 1910. The high placed headlights we haven't seen in this set up very often. So we wouldn't be surprised if the machine appears to be a custom built sports car. The chauffeur ( he is, isn't he?) gives some last minute instructions to the two attractive girls. The one in the driver seat seems to be equally impressed, amused or puzzled by the technical contraptions at their feet. Yet her codriver is holding a twig as sun protection but at the same time giving a cheeky glance to the chauffeur. Well we probably never will know what the conversation was.
To indentify the correct type of Renault the opening lid at the front of the bonnet may be helpful. We love to hear from you as we still have a large weak spot for the big brass-era and vintage "Renos". Especially with charming ladies at the wheel. (collection editor)
