David Jackson sent us some vintage pictures of his late father with friends in an Amilcar and he would like to know the model and year.
The pictures are postcards by now and look amazing.
David said "There are two men and one woman, the man who never gets to sit behind the wheel is my father, W. Montgomery Jackson. The names of the other two are unknown to me. I think the other man must have actually owned the car.
It would be fun to know more if you can find it out. I don't know when these photos were taken. My father was born in 1908 and would have graduated from college in 1930 however I would guess that these photos were taken before then."
Editor: when you check Gilles Fournier's standard work on Amilcar you will conclude that we are looking at a 1924/1926 Amilcar CGS3 with the sporty option of an Eldridge style radiator cowl. Still we were puzzled by the bonnet. The louvres missing where the leather bonnet strap is coming down... we know this from the other side of the car. Not as much for this side. Anyway, we are sure one or two Amilcarists will jump in to explain.
