Central avenue St Petersburg

Wonderful to see a photocard from the time when cars were all different and never looked the same like nowadays. And when you had no issue finding your own car in a large parking lot!

The scenerey showing is Central Avenue, Saint Petersburg, Florida in 1922. It may seem a long shot by car from here to Hershey. According to Google Maps - and without using modern interstates - it is a mere 1080 miles , 22 hour drive. What a fabulous drive! At least when you have the choice to take one of the brandnew cars pictured above.
Why we show you and tell you all this nonsense? These days a massive crowd is leaving their homes and businesses with pre-war and post-war classics, with pick ups, with Winnabagos and huge Peterbilt motorhomes to enjoy the mecca of America's old car scene: the 2016 AACA Eastern Regional Fallmeet. Or in no-bobo choco-lingo just...: HERSHEY !!! 10.000 stalls featuring all the US old car and old fart clubs you can imagine. Zillions of US parts plus chinese made Model T parts (shame on you America!), some 1000 cars in the 'corral' and RM Sotheby's. With as a grand finale on the Saturday morning probably one of the nicest and informal concourse of America. Never been there? Grab a pen ad amend your bucketlist.
