Snowed-under car in Lebanon in 1940
Our comrades "down under" might not particularly appreciate it, but I'd like to present this photo from my collection showing two snowed-under cars which was taken in March 1940 in Lebanon (!).

You have certainly noticed the writing "Palace Hotel Becharre" on the photo.  Even people in the Northern hemisphere are hardly aware of the fact that snow is not that unusal in mountainous areas of the Middle East. Actually, there are several ski resorts in the region around the town of Bsharri which is situated in a valley at almost 5,000 feet altitude.

I believe I managed to identify the car on the right in the picture - it's a 1937 Studebaker, in my opinion. I might be wrong, of course, since I am not a US car expert.

What intrigues me much more, however, is the car on the left. I assume, it's a car from an American manufacturer, as well. Or could it be a French vehicle?
