Junkyard, missing tyre: what is next in this Bugatti T41 story??
A few weeks ago, we published an article about the 'world's most valuable car' that was found in a junkyard. What makes our magazine great are the comments from the readers, their knowledge is just unbelievable.
In this case, we received an email from Ace Zenek: "I believe this is probably one of the most interesting photos of the restored Bugatti Type 41 while it was still in the possession of Charles Chayne. I believe it was probably taken at the Glen House near the base of the Mount Washington Auto Road in the state of New Hampshire because of the sign in the background. The hill climb that currently takes place up the road every three years was first run in 1904.
The photo was likely taken about 1946-1947 possibly at a VMCCA event as the club magazine mentions both Glen House and Charles Chayne during these two years.
I have never seen this photo published anywhere else. I hope that someone can tell us the story of why the Bugatti is missing its right rear tire. I am guessing that the tire has been taken to be fixed as the spare tire is still attached to the back of the car."

Maybe someone can tell the rest of this story. Please leave a comment.
