On a cold Vintage-Revival morning…

Did you visit the Vintage-Revival at the legendary Montlhery track in 2013? If you did, you may remember the sunny weather on Saturday. But you may also remember, that it was very cold on the plateau in the morning. It was that cold, that the starter of a friends Voisin wasn´t able to move the engines sleeves against the cold oil and even the mascots wore a warming pullover.
So what do you do, if your jacket and your skirt don´t even have pockets and your hands get colder and colder? Here is the appropriate way to handle this problem:
The best thing to do is to search for an edwardian racer, that is just back from the track. And if this car is fitted with an V8-Hispano-Suiza engine, you don´t even have to open the hood for using one of the hot valve covers to thaw your cold hands. So for my colleague Giselle, the big 1908 Brasier with its 12-L Hispano aero engine was a gift from the sky...
On the last picture, you can see another little Friday-Lady: Giselle´s two years old daughter inspecting a 1927 Lombard AL3 together with her father at the Vintage-Revival 2015. She really enjoyed the atmosphere, the smell and the sound of the old cars. We easily detected that, as she often started crying, when there was no car or bike on the track, but stopped crying every time, she saw a horde of loud vintage racers appearing on the banked curve. And as you looked at her smile, when the crowd of loud old cars passed her, you knew, that our hobby won´t die out!
