People go to great length and cost to change former ALF firetrucks into edwardian racers with Mercedes looks. Great machines yet as these were never built as automobiles you may experience some issues entering them for events which only allow for cars, not trucks. Others build Edwardian racing specials based on a pre-1914 chassis with a large period (aero) engine. Fabulous hobby, but depicted above is a strictly original supercar base. A 1909 six cylinder T-head 45/55 HP Premier. We fell madly in love with the big six thumper with its elaborate vertically operating valve gear.
The manufacturer from Indiana was not into racing to burning buildings, but yes into real racing (see for instance Premier's awesome yet unsuccesful 1905 Vanderbilt Cup Racer). So the marque not only built cars but also has racing pedigree. The car depicted above was delivered as a large saloon and was changed to its current guise in the fifties when nobody protested against vandalising saloons. Personally we would dispose of the horrible wings plus redundant brass ware and repaint the beast to our own taste. Two setbacks. One, no chain drive, pfff who cares, be a 1909 modernist. Two , the low estimate of $40,000 ( Euro 33,000 or GBP 27,000) is probably meant only to draw your attention. We wouldn't be surprised if the car will fetch double, or triple but hey you never know. Anyway when short of budget be sure to check the long list of alternative project cars.
