Since 1948, April 30 traditionally Holland and Amsterdam will drown itself in an overdose of the colour orange: it's Queens Day! Today however is the very last Queens Day as Queen Beatrix will abdicate after reigning for 33 years. Her oldest son Prince Willem Alexander -married with princess Maxima - will take the throne. So next year there will be no Queens Day - quite a shock for the Dutch - but Kings Day. And April 30 - a day of partying since 1948 will move to April 27, the birthday of Willem Alexander. You may know that Spyker has been royal transport since the twenties. And up to this day the Golden Coach - built by Spyker - is in use on important national days, like here(click). On the picture above however you see the young couple Willem-Alexander & Maxima on board of a Talbot recently offered and sold at PreWarCar.
We are eager to see what kind of transport the young King will use tomorrow aside the Golden Coach. No matter where you are or how you make the photo (possibly with your mobile phone from a TV -set). The first photo to come in showing the brand new king & queen entering a classic car will be rewarded with a brass PWC plate.
