Andy Lloyd sent an e-mail regarding the Chalmers we had on display at our Beaulieu stand last year September. It was sold on the spot by a dealer that we had invited, sadly he didn't inform us about the sale; surprise! Anyway Andy is very happy and did all work required like exhaust valve heads coming off, magneto failure, loose bolts in the engine, and extensive chassis repairs. The only thing not yet working is the air starter system (left in photo). He had a new air tank made but the compressor is still giving problems. Untill then he will start it on the handle and normallyu it will run on the second or third attemt. The car is back on the road and competing in VSCC sprints and hillclimbs. Compliments to Andy, the 1913 Chalmers type 17 looks fab now! Send us a video link as soon you have some footage! And see you all at Beaulieu again in September. |
