Eric McKaige is asking about this large Longuemare carburettor. The throat = 45mm. Diameter of main body is 360 mm. "I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they were fitted to and were they any good. I have something in the back of my brain that tells me they weren't the best carburettors in the world at the time but I'll stand corrected. It came with my 1907 Napier but S.F.Edge being S.F.Edge suggested that Napier should have their own brand of carburettor. As there are only a couple of 6 cylinder cars left in Australia, and that the other one goes and mine doesn't it was deemed to be a good idea to fit both cars with the same carburettor hence my lookout for a 42 HAZ Zenith that I have searched the world for only to find one less that 15kms away!!! Anybody that can shed light on this rather large French carburettor I would be pleased to hear from them. There is a bit of a description in Lavergne's book "The Automobile its construction and management". |
