Peter Johnston writes: A while ago I obtained an old leather trimmed accounting ledger made into a scrapbook full of ‘vintage’ car cut outs. I read it many times and for a while now it has sat on my bookshelf untouched. I have however recently taken it to 2 VSCC race meetings and the interest it caused was unbelievable. People even recognised some of the famous drivers sitting in the cars ! One man even saw the dashboard of the car chassis he has but had never seen the interior dash and lockable glovebox. I thought therefore I would send you a couple of pictures and some facts about it.
It is titled “Motors and Accessories Volumne 1. Sept 1923”. There is a torn sepia photo of a young man titled Author (but no name). It has a full alphabetical index listing the 406 car makes in the book on 510 double pages (each pair of pages is numbered twice). I think there were over 4000 scraps in it when I counted them years ago.
