What a great photo to start the Monday with. It's the interior (click main pic for larger version) of the Bethlehem Motor Corporation from Allentown, Pennsylvania. They were in business from 1917 until 1926, with production exceeding 3,500 units in 1919. This photo was probably taken in early 1920, when they were working on one of the four models they offered in that year, ranging from 1-ton to 4-ton capacity. That same year Bethlehem announced a passenger car with a foreseen production of 20,000 units annually, but later that year the company went into receivership and nothing came of it. Bethlehem kept on producing trucks in limited numbers, only 42 in 1924. Did you notice that on the main photo every member of the workforce proudly looks into the camera? All, except one. We wonder why? Did he already know the future? Or is it a Monday morning issue on the engine-chassis marriage that caught his attention.
