Smell the leather at Historic Brooklands

Brooklands race track plays host to an auction on Saturday August 29 when 123 cars will be auctioned by Historics at Brooklands. Following 135 automobilia lots auctioned in the morning, bidding starts on cars at 12.30. We just love the smell of leather as the door opens on the 1937 SS Jaguar saloon and the quality grey interior invites you in to try the steering wheel for size and cast your eye over the instruments in the neat dashboard layout housed in the wooden surroundings. Comprehensively restored from 'stem to stern' the adjective used to describe its driving experience is 'sublime'.

The word used to describe the 1926 Talbot 10/23 tourer is 'delightful'. The 4 seater body is relatively rare and the 1074 cc OHV engine combined with 3-speed gearbox and quarter-eliptic springs gives it 'brisk performance'. This high quality vintage light car will give much enjoyment for a modest price, especially in VSCC Light Car events.

The F Type Magna was the first in a famous line of small six cylinder MGs and this 1931 example is one of three known survivors with this 2/4 seat coachwork by Jarvis of Wimbledon. The six-cylinder growl coupled with its ENV gearbox and fast road camshaft  will offer sporting motoring on black wire wheels and resplendent red paintwork.  Just the sort of car so often seen at this historic Brooklands track back in 1931 and now.
