A forgotten classic movie from the 1960s is the French/Romanian co-production "Steaua fara nume" ( "A star without name.") After many years Adrian Pascu-Tulbure recently viewed it again and was amazed to see another forgotten classic starring in the movie. Clearly, it's a very luxurious European model from the late 1930s. But what could it be? Adrian comes up with several possibilities: Horch 930, Daimler, Lancia Astura, or maybe a Salmson S4-61? From the quality of the design, Adrian imagines it is from one of the great coachbuilding houses. Certain aspects of the design (especially the windscreen and the rear treatment) seem to be typical French practice. Perhaps Letourneur and Marchand, who were much in favor by the Romanian royals? And why was the car in Romania? Was it there before the war? Perhaps a former royal car? Or maybe a war trophy? Either way, what is it and maybe more important, what happened to it?
