One of the real surprises at last weekend's Schloss Dyck was this amazing four wheeler two seater. Ernst Neumann-Neander was a german motorcycle specialist who built a series of very interesting lightweight (race)machines and aside that a small number of more or less streamlined one-off 'cyclecars'. This 1939 attempt is the very best example.Based on a tubular chassis, powered by a 1000 cc JAP V-twin and bodied with 0,8 mm aero-triplex it has the weight of a true cyclecar: 350 kilos. Despite the minimal body getting in is easy thanks to the two large wing shaped doors hinged not unlike what we found much-much later on the Lamborgini Countach. Another attractive modernism found on the Neander is the steeringwheel with gauges. See more of the arty work of Neander here.
