Last Sunday the new year's meeting of the Dutch Vintage Sports Car Club took place at the workshop of Ab van Egmond just outside Amsterdam. Some 70 active members came together to evaluate 2015 and to take a sip of the 2016 plans. An emotional moment came when president of the club Ron van 't Schip asked permission of the members to proclaim Philine Heikens as honorary member. Philine was the 'mother' of all DVSCC members until her untimely death in 2011 while present at classic sprints in Deventer. Philine ever present laugh and bright eyes are in the memory of all those who were actively involved with the club before and at that time. Philine was everywhere, every time and for everybody. She will be remembered in the heart and soul of the DVSCC with this honorary membership. A handmade cast metal model of Philine's MG was presented to Philine's daughter Sabien. A minute of respectful silence was followed by a roaring applause, very much in the spirit of the ever joyful Philine.
