Is our Amilcar a factory racer?

Our Amilcar. Some ten years ago we purchased an Amilcar which, at the time and having no great experience of the marque, I believed to be a mixture of CGS and CGSs parts. In any case it drove well and looked right.
Unfortunately, due to a partially blocked radiator, the block fractured after some 400 miles of motoring. I then decided to embark on a complete re-build luckily deciding to retain every original part of the car that I could re-use.
I say this because during the work the following came to light.
The chassis seems to be an altered CGS type from early 1925 (if the 'log-book' is to be accepted as being for the car, giving it No. 15806). The rear axle, stamped 116 G 13/55, dates to then, as does the steering box, numbered 8351.
The rear shock-absorbers were almost certainly mounted on the chassis side rails there being no original holes to indicate otherwise. Plus there are corresponding holes on the rear axle for the locating pin for the brackets that fit onto it. The holes can be seen in the photos of the chassis.
The front springs were originally shorter than standard by 15 mm. The mounts rivetted to the chassis for the shackles are 15 mm forward of where they would normally be.
The pinion-shaft is to a non-standard size. As too  are parts of the torque-tube!
The rear springs are 15 cm shorter than standard CGS ones. 5 cm shorter than a CGSs!
The wheelbase, when properly assembled, appears to be some 8.5 cm LESS than a CGS, but slightly greater than a CGSs by 1.5 cm.
Researched based on all information available to me leads me to believe that the car may well be one of the 1925 works cars. According to the 'Amilcar' book and the recollections of Pierre Chan, one-time assistant to Edward Moyet, three were constructed based on a modified, shorter-wheelbased CGS chassis. Also, photographs show that these cars had their rear shock-absorbers mounted on the chassis sides.
If anybody can throw any light on the history of this car, or provide further information - even should it prove me wrong in my conclusions - I would be happy to recieve it.
I have written a detailed article, with photographs. Should anyone be interested in a copy then please e-mail
