Yesterday I purchased a 1917 Dodge Brothers Winter Touring car almost in the shadow of the old Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. One family owned for the last ninety seven years. Has sat in the spot you see it since 1937 when they could no longer find the required tire size. In that year the Dodges had only built roadsters and touring cars. In order to market a winter car they contracted Rex Top in Connersville, Indiana to design and engineer such specifically to suit their cars. Mine is one of about for total still known to exist. An "oily rag" restoration is intended. After all the hobby has tires for this today and it was running just fine when it was parked seventy seven years ago. They are STILL OUT THERE. editor: hey! Mr. S.O. There, tell us your name and address. You've deserved yourselves a PreWarCar Reporters Cap! |
