Frazer Nash Racers Commence Alpine Ice Adventure.

As if the Frazer Nash concept with its wild whining chain gears isn't producing enough aural pleasures with formal racing a group of the gang is now seeking a new fortissimo. Helped with steel studs & ice.  Former VSCC PR Manager Gillian Carr reports:

Throughout its 80 years of history, Frazer Nash Car Club members are renowned within the vintage motorsport world for pushing boundaries. From dominating the top accolades at pre-war circuit racing events to participating in challenging overseas rallies known as ‘Raids’, Frazer Nash drivers have always strived to continue with the original ethos of Frazer Nash cars, that they are a machine suited adept with diversity to deliver exceptional performance.

Several years ago, a group of Frazer Nash owners decided to turn a long-standing dream into a reality….to drive their cars to the Alps in the depths of winter and compete on one of the fabled Ice Racing circuits. Fifteen cars depart, during the first weekend in February to drive to cross the channel and drive 500 miles to the French Alpine resort of Morzine without the luxury of hoods or roofs.  Here they will re-group before tackling ‘Circuit Glace’, Flaine on Tuesday 3 February, better known as a venue for the Andros Trophy Races.

Whilst Frazer-Nashes are more commonly seen going sideways when competing at speed, thanks to their chain drive and solid rear axles, the cars will all be fitted with Supatracks studs.  Each car will be fitted with 200 studs provided by the Renfrewshire Company, experts in all terrain access solutions. Cars have also been supplied with subsidised tyres from Longstone Tyres
