There are many model designations, but what exactly makes a car a Doctors Coupe? Was it only to be used by doctors? Perhaps it was named so because this model with only two seats and a trunk could be easily used by country doctors? But maybe you can come up with a better reason?
Anyway, we saw this 1929 Lea Francis 12/40 'P' type Doctors Coupe in true barn find, but reasonable condition at Richard Edmonds, who will offer it during their auction on Friday, August 2. The auction will be held at Toddington Railway Station, Gloucestershire, a very attractive location which is only seven miles from Prescott, where that same weekend the VSCC will have their annual Hill Climb. We think this could work both ways... for the visitor to the VSCC event it will be easy to visit the auction, but also if you have a pre-war car or a VSCC eligible motorcar for sale, why not enter it at Edmonds, as there surely will be many spectators.
