Visions of Tomorrow

Ninety years ago Henry Ford had a vision about his company strategy that talked of "One Ford, one plan, one team and working together". This idea was translated by his advertising department into an ad campaign about Ford providing affordable, safe transportation to everyone. The advert "Opening the Highways to All Mankind", showing a family that overlooks a hilly landscape dotted with cars and Ford manufacturing facilities in the background, was originally placed in the Saturday Evening Post on Jan. 24, 1925. Some years ago the original painting for the advert has been rediscovered, restored and now adopted by present day Ford brass as a new concept for future company policy. It reminds us of the old saying 'Everything old is new again', but we must also stress that we really like it when these old adverts get a new life and are seen as a true form of art.
