Here on PreWarCar we mostly deal with pre-war sports and luxury cars. But they weren't the only ones to be seen on the road. Occasionally we have shown you some trucks and buses but there were other utility vehicles. Those of you who have been at Retromobile in February, have surely seen this remarkable Renault streetsweeper. But Renault wasn't the only ones who made these kind of vehicles. Another French company was Laffly from Paris, mostly known for fire trucks and who incidentally was incorporated in Renault in 1952. In Germany was the Elite made by Elite-Motoren AG from Berlin. That was an very ingenious vehicle. Mainly a motorized front that that could be coupled to for instance a garbage truck or a device for spraycleaning the streets. But what we don't know here at PreWarCar is what was used in other countries like Australia and the United States. We would sure like to see some pictures, so if you have some, or know what we are talking about, do send us your story.
By the way, we have already heard the new dates for Retromobile: 5-9 February 2014. We will be there. Will you?
